DANCE ETIQUETTE: Please come to class in clean, well-covered, well-supported dance attire. Be sure to exercise good hygiene with both attire and shoes. Classical ballet students should wear hair in a bun – no excuses and all dancers’ hair should be up and out of your face.

ATTENDANCE:

Regular attendance is recommended so that your child does not feel they are behind. Please let us know if your child is sick, we may be able to recommend a make-up class. Remember, you must pay the entire month session whether your child attends class or not. It is important that students miss as little as possible during recital preparations. Teachers have choreographed formations and partners in the dances and will need all students present at every class. If you do not plan to participate in the recital, but wish to continue classes, please let the teacher know so she/he can make adjustments.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:

If classes are cancelled due to "Acts of God", i.e., weather conditions, power outages, etc., those classes will not be made up and there will be no refunds, however, if the same class is cancelled again for the same reason there will be a make-up class scheduled. If you do not attend the make-up for any reason, there will be no refund.

If class is cancelled due to holidays, we will do our best to find a make-up class that works for you. Please note on the calendar that the scheduled holiday breaks are not part of the 18 weeks of your tuition. If class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, we will do our best to find a class that works for you.

WEATHER:

Please follow HENRICO COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS closings for weather related conditions only – holiday closings are not always the same as Dance Masters holiday closings. Although the roads may be clear, we must stay consistent with Henrico County. For Saturday students, we will call to let you know since there are no school closings on the weekend.

TUITION:

Please pay your tuition on time. We have noted the calendar for payments and late payments. Please use this reference because we do not send out monthly bills.

Please make checks payable to DANCE MASTERS FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT.

Tuition of the current session is due in full whether or not you or your child participates.

Preschool students (5yrs old and under) get a 4-week trial period. After the 4 weeks, you are committed to paying the full session whether or not your child continues.

You may pay a $90.00 cancellation fee and be released from your contract NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

You may be released from your contract due to relocation, severe illness/injury, and must provide proof of these changes.

DISCOUNTS:

There are discounts for immediate family members and crossovers (taking Ballroom and Fine Arts). You will also receive free lessons when you refer someone and they sign up.

WHAT DO PARENTS DO DURING CLASS:

Parents are welcome to wait on the Ballroom side and peek through the doors/windows or come back when the class is over. We do not allow parents in the classroom because the children need to have one authority in the room in order to run a successful class. There will be a Parent Demonstration just before Christmas Break and then the recital in June.

RECITALS/SHOWS/APPERANCES:

Recital is an original show created by the Director at the end of the year. It is not a requirement, but strongly encouraged. You will receive a recital packet which gives you all the information you will need for recital preparation including picture day and DVDs. There is a Dance Team that does performances during the year to help promote Dance Masters. Members are invited by the Director to join the Team based on their performance in class.
